Who I Am

My name is Mouhameth Ba, and I am originally from Senegal, West Africa. I grew up learning the importance of resourcefulness and practical problem-solving skills that continue to shape how I approach engineering today. In 2020, I moved to the United States to pursue an engineering education while staying closely connected to my roots.

I am currently a Mechatronics & Robotics Systems Engineering student with a concentration in Electrical Engineering at Detroit Mercy University, where I transferred in Fall 2025. Before transferring, I earned three associate degrees from Oakland Community College, building a strong technical and academic foundation.

Alongside my studies, I work as a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician supporting the Amazon Robotics account through CBRE. In this role, I work daily with automated robotic systems, conveyors, sensors, and electrical equipment in a high-availability industrial environment.

What drives me most is working at the intersection of hands-on troubleshooting and engineering-level thinking. My journeyβ€”from Senegal to the United States, and from technician to engineerβ€”has strengthened my adaptability, resilience, and ability to bridge practical experience with engineering theory.

Technical Focus & Expertise

Working in highly automated facilities exposed me to the complexity behind large-scale robotics systems operating at scale. Rather than focusing only on maintenance, I became increasingly curious about how these systems are designed, optimized, and made reliable.

This curiosity motivated my transition from purely technician work toward engineering-level understanding. I am particularly interested in electrical systems, embedded control, and robotics architectures that must perform consistently in real-world environments.

Future Vision

I am driven to contribute to technology that solves real-world infrastructure challenges, particularly in automation, robotics, and industrial systems. My aim is to grow into an engineering role focused on the design, development, and optimization of robotic and automated systems.

This portfolio highlights my academic projects, hands-on experience, and ongoing technical development as I progress toward that goal. Ultimately, I seek to build scalable, reliable systems that adapt to real needs and improve quality of life.

About the Footer Phrase

"Dina metti, waaye dinagnu ci Geneu"
"It will be hard, but we will succeed"

This Wolof proverb reflects a core value I carry from Senegal: meaningful engineering is never easy, but discipline and perseverance lead to success.

Wolof is one of the most widely spoken languages in Senegal, and this phrase appears in my portfolio footer as a reminder of why I do this work.
